About the NeurIPS Template

NeurIPS (Conference on Neural Information Processing Systems) is one of the most prestigious venues for machine learning and computational neuroscience research. Held annually in December, NeurIPS consistently attracts thousands of submissions from researchers worldwide.

NeurIPS 2026 will be held in Sydney, Australia (December 6–12, 2026), with official satellite events in Paris, France and Atlanta, USA (December 9–13). Submissions closed on May 6, 2026, and author notifications go out September 24, 2026 (AoE). Accepted papers then move to the camera-ready stage, which uses the same neurips_2026 style file with the final option enabled. NeurIPS 2027 will be held in Europe; dates and deadlines have not been announced.

The NeurIPS LaTeX template uses a single-column format with a 9-page limit for the main content, excluding references and the mandatory paper checklist. Authors must use the official neurips_2026.sty style file, which handles formatting for 10-point Times New Roman type on US Letter paper. The template includes a "preprint" option for non-anonymous arXiv preprints.

A distinctive feature of NeurIPS submissions is the mandatory paper checklist, which is included in the LaTeX style file and must not be removed. This checklist covers reproducibility, broader impact, and ethical considerations. Submissions that violate the style guidelines or page limits may be desk-rejected without review. The conference uses double-blind review, so authors must omit identifying information at submission time.
