AI & ML Conference Deadlines 2026–2027
Every date below was checked against the official call for papers. Where the next cycle has not been announced, we say TBA instead of guessing, and note the previous cycle's timing so you can plan. Deadlines are frequently extended or shifted; the official CFP always wins.

Reading the table
Abstract vs paper deadline. The abstract deadline registers the submission (title, authors, subject area) and is the hard gate: no new submissions after it. The full PDF follows at the paper deadline, typically about a week later. At several venues (NeurIPS, KDD among them) the author list also locks at the abstract deadline, so get every co-author on before then.
AoE. Most deadlines run on Anywhere on Earth time, UTC-12: the deadline passes only once the date has ended everywhere on the planet. For US Eastern, that is 8:00 the next morning; for Central Europe, 13:00 the next day. ICRA is the notable exception above: it uses Pacific time, which is nineteen hours earlier than AoE. Check the timezone before you plan an all-nighter around the wrong midnight.
arXiv and anonymity. The big ML venues (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR) allow an arXiv preprint of the paper you are submitting; double-blind applies to the submitted PDF, not to the existence of a preprint. The *ACL conferences dropped their old hard embargo but still expect you not to promote the preprint while it is under review. Policies get re-tuned almost yearly, so reread the CFP each cycle. If you are posting a preprint, our arXiv submission guide covers the mechanics.
Formatting. Each venue's LaTeX template, page limit and required sections are on our conference templates pages. See NeurIPS, ICLR, CVPR and ACL for the venues above. Desk rejections for template violations are real; do not hand-tweak the style files.
FAQ
What does AoE mean in a conference deadline?
AoE is Anywhere on Earth, UTC-12. A deadline of September 25 AoE means the date has not yet ended anywhere on the planet. In practice, as long as it is still September 25 on Howland Island you can submit. For US Eastern time, AoE midnight is 8:00 AM the following morning.
What is the difference between the abstract deadline and the paper deadline?
At the abstract deadline you register the submission: title, abstract, authors, and subject area. The full PDF is due at the paper deadline, usually about a week later. The abstract deadline is a hard gate (no new submissions after it passes), and at many venues the author list locks then too.
Which AI conference deadlines are next?
As of August 2026, the next confirmed deadlines are ICRA 2027 (September 15, 2026), ICASSP 2027 (September 16, 2026), ICLR 2027 (papers September 25, 2026, abstracts September 18), and the Web Conference 2027 (papers October 18, 2026). CVPR 2027 and AISTATS 2027 are expected to announce autumn 2026 deadlines.
Can I post my paper on arXiv before the conference deadline?
At the major ML conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR) yes: an arXiv preprint of your submission is allowed under double-blind review, as long as the submitted PDF itself is anonymized. The *ACL venues (ACL, EMNLP, NAACL) removed their old hard preprint embargo but still expect you not to actively promote the work during review. Always check the current call for papers for your venue.
