ACM CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems
Premier HCI conference. Uses ACM article format with single-column submission and two-column publication.

About the CHI Template
CHI (ACM Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems) is the premier international conference on human-computer interaction. The conference brings together researchers and practitioners from diverse fields including design, psychology, computer science, and social science.
CHI 2026 was held at the Centre de Convencions Internacional de Barcelona in Barcelona, Spain (April 13–17, 2026).
The CHI LaTeX template uses the ACM acmart document class with different options for different stages. For anonymous submission, authors use \documentclass[manuscript,review,anonymous]{acmart}. For camera-ready publication, the format switches to \documentclass[sigconf]{acmart} which produces a two-column layout.
CHI embraces the ACM publication workflow where initial submissions are in single-column PDF format. If accepted, authors upload publication-ready source files to TAPS (The ACM Publishing System), which generates the final two-column PDF and responsive HTML5 document. The conference recommends LaTeX over Word as it produces fewer formatting issues.
