About the OSDI Template
OSDI (USENIX Symposium on Operating Systems Design and Implementation) is one of the most prestigious venues for systems research. Alongside SOSP, OSDI is considered the top conference for operating systems, distributed systems, and systems software research.
OSDI 2026 (20th edition) was held in Seattle, WA (July 13–15, 2026); that cycle's papers were due December 11, 2025. The OSDI 2027 call for papers had not been posted as of August 2026; based on recent cycles, expect a deadline around December 2026.
OSDI uses the USENIX LaTeX template, a two-column format with a 12-page limit for the main content, excluding references. The USENIX format is also used by NSDI, ATC, FAST, and other USENIX conferences. The template and formatting guidelines are available from the USENIX author resources page.
The conference covers a wide range of systems topics including operating systems, distributed systems, storage, networking, security, and increasingly, systems for machine learning.
