About the EMNLP Template

EMNLP (Conference on Empirical Methods in Natural Language Processing) is a top-tier NLP conference organized by SIGDAT, a special interest group of the ACL. It emphasizes empirical approaches to natural language processing and is considered alongside ACL and NAACL as one of the premier NLP venues.

EMNLP 2026 will be held in Budapest, Hungary (October 24–29, 2026). Submissions closed May 25, 2026 (via ACL Rolling Review). Notifications go out August 20, 2026, and camera-ready papers for both long and short tracks are due August 30, 2026, only ten days later, so have your final formatting ready.

EMNLP uses the standard ACL style files, so the LaTeX template is identical to the one used for ACL, NAACL, and other *ACL conferences. The format is two-column with an 8-page limit for long papers and a 4-page limit for short papers. The mandatory Limitations section is required, placed after the conclusion.

The conference covers a wide range of NLP topics including machine translation, information extraction, question answering, summarization, dialogue systems, and large language models. EMNLP typically has a strong focus on reproducibility and empirical rigor.
