About the Springer LNCS Template

The Springer LNCS (Lecture Notes in Computer Science) template is used by a vast number of computer science conferences that publish their proceedings through Springer. This includes ECCV, MICCAI, and hundreds of other venues in the LNCS, LNAI (Artificial Intelligence), and LNBI (Bioinformatics) series.

The llncs document class produces a single-column layout on A4 paper. Page limits typically range from 12-15 pages depending on the specific conference. The template is maintained by Springer and available from their official conference proceedings guidelines page.

The current version (llncs.cls v2.24) is available on CTAN and pre-loaded in Overleaf. When using Overleaf, it's recommended to switch to TeXLive 2025 or later for the best compatibility. An enhanced community version on GitHub adds modern features like microtype and hyperref while maintaining full compatibility with the official template.
